History Of Salangpur ( Kashtbhanjan ) Balaji
Lord Swaminarayan had visited Salangpur village many times. He preached Vachanamrut on this very land and started celebrating festivals in a pure way. Lord Swaminarayan visited to Salangpur with his saints and accepted the devotion of the villagers living here and instilled in them good deeds and good values. Lord Swaminarayan blessed the devotees here and said that a grand temple would be built on this land and a god who would remove everyone’s sorrows would live here.
After Lord Swaminarayan’s visit, his own foremost saintly Sadguru Shri Shri Gopalanand Swami JI once visited Salangpur village. Haribhakta Waghakhachar and other few people of the village came to have his darshan. After prostrating themselves, they sat near Swami Ji. Gopalanand Swami Ji naturally asked, “Wagha Khachar, is it all good?” With this question from Swamishri, lines of worry were clearly visible on Waghakhachar’s face. Wagha Khachar prayed to Swamishri in a humble voice, “Hey Gopalanand Swami Ji! Due to the drought for the last three years, the economic condition of the villagers has become very weak. Considering this situation, all the saints sometimes come to Salangpur, but they are not able to give any solution of this thing. Due to this, there has also been a drought in Satsang.”
Hearing the delicate condition of Salangpur village, which was the abode of Lord Swaminarayan, Sadguru Sant Gopalanand Swami’s heart melted with compassion. He told Waghakhachar, “Residents of Salangpur, I am setting up a glorious god here for you. He will remove all your hassles and sufferings. Having his darshan will solve all your problems & troubles.” At first, Waghakhachar and the villagers did not understand this. Therefore, Swamishri clearly said, “I am establishing the image of Shri Hanumanji Maharaj, who will remove all your troubles, in Salangpur. Having darshan of his idol (Murti), your troubles will be resolved forever.” Hearing this, Waghakhachar became emotional and began to consider himself extremely blessed by placing his head at Swamishri’s feet.
Then Swamishri himself prepared a picture of the idol of Hanumanji and asked the sculptor Kanji Mistry ( Kadia )to make the idol of hanuman ji according to the photo. Thus, the work of making the idol and building the temple began. What obstacle can come in the work being done by the supreme being Sadguru Shri Gopalanand Swami? As soon as the idol and the temple were ready, on the fifth day of Aso Vad of Samvat 1905, a great Pratishtha festival was organized in accordance with the scriptures and the Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Kashtabhanjandev Hanumanji Maharaj began at Salangpur. At the time of Pratishtha, the gracious Sadguru of Lord Swaminarayan, Santvarya Gopalanand Swami, placed the Yasthika (stick for support) with his beard and began the Tratak ceremony for the Pratishtha of life in the idol and invoked Hanumanji Maharaj. In a few moments, as soon as Hanumanji Maharaj entered the idol, the idol started shaking. The wind blew vigorously in all directions along with the sound of conch shells and bells. Sadguru Gopalanand Swami prayed before the idol and said, “Oh God! May all the people who come to the refuge of Lord Shri Swaminarayan with any kind of sorrow, pain, or suffering, be freed from your sight, protected, and blessed with happiness. May you always reside here, O Kashtabhanjandev Hanumanji Maharaj.”
Hanuman Dada resided in Salangpur with the sky-shattering Jayanad of ‘Shri Kashtabhanjandev Hanumanji Maharaj ni Jai’. After that, Swamishri gave him the stick (support stick) he had and said that when the troubles do not go away in any way, sprinkling water touched by this stick will immediately calm down the troubles. Lord Swaminarayan blessed the land of Salangpur with the status of a pilgrimage site and his saint Gopalanand Swami enshrined the idol of Shri Kashtabhanjandev Hanumanji Maharaj here and created Salangpurdham.

About Shree Swaminarayan Ji Temple
There is also situated a temple of shree swaminarayan bhagvan and he is also worshipped there with Salangpur (Kashtbhanjan) Balaji. You should must visit to the swaminarayan temple also if you are visiting Salangpur.
Lord Shri Swaminarayan appeared on this earth on Monday, April 2, 1781, in the fortnight of the eighth century, Vikram Samvat 1837 Chaitra Sud Nom, AD 1781. The first good fortune of being imprinted by the feet of Parabrahman Lord Shri Swaminarayan was received by the blessed Dhara of Chhapaiya, a village near Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. Balprabhu gave happiness to mother Bhaktidevi and father Dharmadev through his playful activities. In his childhood, he was famous by the name of Ghanshyam Prabhu.
On the early morning of Vikram Samvat 1849, Ashadh Sud 10, he left Ayodhya and headed for North India. From there he came to Nepal and performed severe penance at the ancient pilgrimage site of Pulhashram. Seeing his radiant body, even though he was a farmer, the words “Nilkanth Varni” would flow from everyone’s mouth. He was always unattached to celibacy, self-control and worldly things or facilities. With only one cloth on his body and bare feet, passing through dense forests, vast mountain ranges, vast rivers, seashores, villages and towns, Nilkanth Varni offered pilgrimage to the land of India and gave darshan to countless ascetics and gave the fruits of his sadhana. After traveling for 7 years, 1 month and 11 days across India, he arrived in Loj village of Gujarat on the 6th day of Shravan Vad, Vikram Samvat 1856. In the ashram of Guru Ramanand Swami in Loj village of Gujarat, Nilkanth Varni met Muktanand Swami. On the day of Kartik Sudi Ekadashi of Vikram Samvat 1857, Guru Ramanand Swami gave Mahadiksha to Nilkanth Varni in Piplana and gave him two names: Sahajanand Swami and Narayan Muni.
Sadguru Ramanand Swami understood the essence of the twenty-one-year-old young Sahajanand Swami. That is why he decided to hand over the throne of religion to Sahajanand Swami, who had amazing work capacity and spiritual ability. On the auspicious day of Kartik Sudi 11 of Vikram Samvat 1859, Shri Sahajanand Swami was installed as the Acharya of the throne of the sect. Then, when asked to ask for a boon, Shri Sahajanand Swami asked for two boons from his Guru Ramanand Swami which are unique in the history of the spiritual world:
(1) O Swamin! At the end of this world, human beings suffer more pain than the sting of countless scorpions, and whatever other physical pains they suffer; if it is written for your devotees to suffer the pain of those pains, may it befall me, but your devotees should not be sad.
(2) O Swamin! If it is written for your devotees who worship the Lord to suffer the pain of food and clothing due to their difficult karmic circumstances, may that pain come to me, but they should never be sad while eating and wearing food and clothing.
Thus, Bhagwan Shri Sahajanand Swami asked for a boon to suffer the pain of others himself, but did not ask for luxury and luxury. Sahajanand Swami, who was installed as a Guru, first undertook the work of social welfare.
In the sects of Hinduism, each sect has its own theoretical-theoretical foundation, which is also called a view. The belief about the nature of the mutual relationship between Jiva, Maya, Ishwar, Akshar (Brahma) and Parameshwar (Parabrahman) is called a view. It is because of this theoretical belief or difference in views that various sects exist. Swaminarayan Bhagwan approved the theory of Vishishtadvaita Mat of Ramanujacharyaji as his own theory. But he has accepted Ramanujacharya’s theory with a new dimension, due to which a unique shade of his philosophy arises in his theory. Ramananda Swami passed away. After that, Sahajanand Swami gave the Swaminarayan Mantra to the devotees to meditate and chant. By chanting that mantra, everyone started experiencing spiritual realization and with it, Lord Shri Swaminarayan met the world. In the Swaminarayan sect, he outlined separate rules for householders and renunciates. In the rules of the householder, he gave five rules, namely, not to drink alcohol, not to steal, not to eat meat, not to commit adultery, and not to cheat or make anyone cheat, and created a civilized society by making ideal devotees and ideal citizens. To spread the identity of Vedic religion and the values of religion in the society, the bright Swaminarayan, who renounced women and wealth, gave the invaluable gift of the tradition of saints. The saints of Lord Swaminarayan, who were devoted to devotion, knowledge and service, started the tradition of empowering the society spiritually, culturally and socially. The pioneer of religion, Lord Swaminarayan, undertook the task of removing the corruption in the society. He freed the people suffering from superstition and superstition that had become widespread in the society and guided them to the right path. He abolished many evil customs and practices that had become prevalent in the society, such as the custom of giving milk to girls, the custom of Sati, singing of ghatanas (vile songs) at weddings, etc. He prohibited the killing of animals in sacrifices. Lord Swaminarayan traveled through cities and villages and rescued the innocent people who were drowning in the clutches of superstition and superstition.
Lord Shri Swaminarayan saw that many types of injustice were being done to women and people of the Shudra caste in the society. Some religious leaders did not even consider them as entitled to worship God. To free them from this injustice, Lord Shri Swaminarayan built separate temples for female devotees and gave them freedom. And he also made many Shudra devotees his dependents. At that time, there were many evils and superstitions committed in the name of religion. For example, the practice of Sati, making daughters drink milk, violent sacrifices, Bhuva, Bharadi, all these evils had crippled not only Gujarat, but the entire India. Gandhian and great thinker Shri Kishorelal Mashruwala writes that, ‘At that time, there was not a single house in Gujarat where a woman had not experienced a ghostly experience. And there was not a single street where a house was not known as a ghost house. Such superstitions, superstitions and atrocities were being practiced in the name of religion. Which Lord Swaminarayan removed with his unique charm and turned people back to our Vedic culture. And made a wonderful progress in human life.’ Lord Shri Swaminarayan saved many ungodly people through Satsang work. Drinking alcohol, gambling, looting, eating meat, killing innocent animals, birds and humans, committing adultery
